Man bikes over 300 km from Cavite to Pangasinan to see girlfriend

John Paul Gatbonton did not let distance and the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic stop him from seeing the woman he was courting.

According to a report on “24 Oras Weekend,” Gatbonton biked more than 300 kilometers from Cavite to Pangasinan on Oct. 10 to see Donna Ocomen, who he met online, for the first time.

Gatbonton said he submitted all the necessary requirements to pass through quarantine checkpoints.

On Oct. 11, all his efforts paid off and Gatbonton saw Ocomen for the first time. The day after, Ocomen agreed to be his girlfriend.

“Sobrang kinakabahan po ako tsaka worried kasi umuulan po noon, eh. Tapos hindi po siya nagcha-chat sa akin. Tapos bigla na lang po siya dumating. Sobrang saya po,” Ocomen said.

“Kasi po gusto ko po siya, mahal ko po siya. Gusto ko po siyang makita. Tinanggap niya ako; inuunawa,” Gatbonton said. – Joahna Lei Casilao/RC, GMA News
