How #GabLil handled their relationship during quarantine

As the realization of being on lockdown for a couple of months began to dawn, a frenzy of questions started flying around not just about our health and safety but also our romantic lives. For Kapuso It Girl Gabbi Garcia and her newly-minted Kapuso boyfriend Khalil Ramos, the quarantine was an opportunity for them to learn new things about themselves and as a couple.

Last February 2020, just a month or so before the country was placed under quarantine, Gabbi and Khalil or #GabLil celebrated their 3rd anniversary. Looking at the couple’s social media accounts, it was evident that they both love spending time together, eating out, and traveling. So, one can only imagine the transition that they had to go through during ECQ.

#GabLil on doubts and anxiety

In one of their vlogs last June, Gabbi and Khalil shared their experiences and struggles as individuals and as a couple while being apart. They were in distress and overthought things. It also came to a point where their relationship went down a rocky road because of the uncertainties brought about by the lockdown. However, upon fully understanding the situation they were in, the couple dealt with their feelings together and did not leave each other hanging.

#GabLil on coping and staying strong

Soon, they found the right balance to still bring out the best in one another despite the challenges they faced. Through regular virtual and physical coffee dates, Gabbi and Khalil created moments over a pleasurable cup of coffee to help each other cope with the doubts and anxieties they were experiencing. It was in these moments where they were able to communicate better, find peace and gain new perspective in facing their day.

#GabLil having their coffee moment

They managed to brighten up the darkness that they were in, take away one’s bitterness, and add more sweetness in the relationship. They also stayed in touch by checking on one another constantly, working out together via video calls, and sending food for each other’s family.
