Barbie Almalbis shares husband Martin Honasan’s COVID-19 experience

Barbie Almalbis has revealed that her husband Martin Honasan had tested positive for COVID-19.

On Instagram, the singer shared her husband’s experience, posting a photo of herself in PPE scrubs while she took care of Martin at the hospital.

“24/7 ootw (outfit of the week) while taking care of Martin who was at the hospital for covid-19 complications,” she wrote.

Barbie said they were not sure how her husband got the virus, “maybe from one of our recent hospital visits, or from someone in our bubble who was asymptomatic.”

She said she posted on Instagram “to share our testimony.”

“This was one of the hardest months we’ve ever had, a faith-stretching season that brought us to our knees many times, but God has remained faithful to sustain us and give us peace through it all,” she wrote.

Barbie said “on the day Martin tested positive, he was reading 2 Chronicles 20 in the Bible.”

“If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.”

“Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

“Do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.”

Barbie said “these became the verses we held on to as we prayed especially on the most challenging days.”

The singer said one night it became difficult and painful for Martin to breathe “and he felt fuzzy and confused from a 9-day fever and dehydration, he was feeling scared.”

They mentioned it to their nurse, who “gently tapped him on the shoulder and said, ‘Don’t worry, Sir Martin. God is with you,’” wrote Barbie.

She said the nurse had no idea “but that moment gave Martin a surge of hope and peace, assured that God had been with us every moment, as He promised.”

“He began to recover soon after, and we were able to go home after a few days,” she added.

Barbie said “one of things that truly made an impact on us were the nurses and doctors who helped our family with such excellence, compassion, and love.”

She thanked those who helped them get through it, including nurses and doctors at St. Luke’s Medical Center Global City.

“We are grateful to our dear family and friends who prayed with us, supported us, and encouraged us everyday. Love you all so much! We praise God for all He has done, and for making himself known to us even more through this,” she ended her note.
