Rachelle Ann Go details struggles during first 3 days as a new mom
Rachelle Ann Go took to Instagram her experience as a new mom during the first three days with her newborn Lukas Judah.
On Monday, Rachelle shared a black and white photo of her husband Martin Spies carrying their bags from the hospital when he picked her and the baby up.
According to the singer, they stayed at the hospital for three days and Martin was only allowed to visit during daytime so she pretty much had to do things on her own.
Rachelle added that she didn’t sleep at all and had multiple struggles like carrying Lukas out of his bed and changing his diaper.
“I stared at the window blankly because of zero sleep. I cried because of my hormones, especially when Lukas was choking!” she wrote in the caption.
She then recalled a scary moment when her baby’s skin changed color while she was feeding him.
“I started breastfeeding him but because his glucose level at that time was really low, they had to give him formula milk," she said.
“He choked while I was feeding him and turned blue. I panicked and started crying! I was like ‘Lord, how? I need help!!!’” she added.
According to the new mom, through that experience, she realized how nurses and midwives are important to have around and reminded everyone to ask for guidance when needed.
The second day for them went smoothly, fortunately, and Rachelle “kept getting better until [they] got discharged.”
Although she’s still in the learning and adjusting phase, the singer can’t help but recognize the “motherly instincts” that she has within.
“I had a tough time but I learned so much in the span of 3 days. I’m so grateful I went through it and figured things out myself," she said.
“We are made to do this,” she wrote with a flexing emoji. “Do not doubt nor fear.”
On Saturday, Rachelle also showed how cool of a mama she is through her “amazing birthing experience” that she made effortlessly “fashion.”
