Manila moms get cake in cup, food packs on Mother's Day

Mothers in Manila's Tondo District on Sunday received cake in  a cup, and food packs from barangay officials and police officers for moms' special day.

Over 500 senior citizens in Barangay 56, Zone 5 along Pavia Street queued at the food distribution program dubbed "Barangayanihan Cake in Cup Mother's Day Celebration."

Jose Abad Santos Police Station in Manila reminded donors and receivers to observe COVID-19 protocols as coronavirus variants and growing number of virus cases remain a threat.

"Information drive about Covid-19 and new Variant of the Virus conveys to the public and to remind them about health protocols by always wash their hands, wearing face mask, face shield, maintain social distancing and prohibition of social gathering to avoid the spread of Corona Virus and new Variant," the police station writes on Facebook. —Consuelo Marquez/LBG, GMA News
