Drew Arellano teaches kids that 'being good is better than being right'
On Bianca Gonzales on "Paano Ba 'To?" podcast about fatherhood, Drew Arellano was asked what values and lessons he'd like to pass on to his children.
Drew answered the question with a cute and funny anecdote about Primo and Leon.
According to the dad of three, they give Primo game time as a reward. "Mornings, wala pang game time, kasi it's still early," he explained.
"For Leon wala pang game time 'yan," he continued.
But one morning, Drew saw Primo using Leon's gadget. "I’m like, 'Kuya it’s not your game time, I gotta take that phone from you.'" Primo ended up crying.
When Leon saw his Kuya crying, "he went to the office, he got the phone and he gave it to his kuya," Drew narrated.
"I told Kuya this might be too deep for his age...I told him, 'most of the time, it’s better to be good than to be right.'"
"Look what your little brother did, hindi naman niya alam na you can’t have game time. But because you were crying and he was such a good brother and he wanted you to stop crying, he got the phone and he gave it to you," Drew told Primo.
After giving Primo the lecture, his little man just gave Drew a stare and started playing again.
However, Drew said he would "remind them every so often that being good is always better than being right."
Iya and Drew tied the knot in 2014. They have three children: Primo, Leon and Baby Alana who they just welcomed into the world last July. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
