Dad transforms into a merman for daughter's birthday shoot
A dad transformed into a merman for his daughter's birthday shoot.
In an interview with Athena Imperial in "24 Oras," Thursday, Neil Anthony Grana said he was't the one supposed to wear the costume, but still agreed for his daughter Angel's happiness.
"Buntis kasi yung misis ko kaya 'di niya pwedeng suotin 'yung mermaid kaya nag-volunteer nalang ako. Ang sikip non kasi medyo mataba ako lalo na yung nakaupo kami. Hindi na ako huminga," he said.
("My wife is pregnant so she can't wear the mermaid costume so I volunteered, instead. It was so fit because I'm kinda fat, especially the part where we're sitting down. I didn't breathe.")
"[Angel's] favorite is 'Little Mermaid.' I can't even imagine how I did it," he added in Filipino.
As of writing, the post of his wife, Ayen Alpuerto-Grana, on Facebook has reached over 2,000 reactions and over 3,600 shares from netizens.
Although some have negative reactions, Neil said he is proud to have shown that he can do anything for his daughter.
He added that the post has also inspired others to challenge their partners to do the same.
"Most comments are from girls who are challenging their husbands, saying that a person's birthday is coming near," he said.
To fathers out there, meanwhile, Neil has this to say: "Get ready. This is a challenge."
