2 lolas serve as flower girls on granddaughter's wedding
Two lolas made their granddaughter's wedding day more special as they walked down the aisle and served as the couple's flower girls.
In Oscar Oida's report on "24 Oras," Tuesday, the grandmothers are seen throwing flower petals around as they carry a banner that read: "Here comes our apo."
According to the bride, Ronna Uy Cañete, the lolas only knew of their roles on the same day as she wanted it to be a surprise for them.
"It's like me, giving back to their service and sacrifices for me for almost 25 years so they will be happy and my wedding will be memorable," she said in English and Filipino.
"I want my lolas to experience how it is to be a flower girl. That's my goal," she added.
Nena Oquias, one of the lolas, said the experience was very "unforgettable" for her.
"I've always wanted to be a flower girl but no one invited me," she said in a mix of English and Filipino.
"I am thankful to my granddaughter who gave us happiness and love which I'll never forget. (I hope) they love each other until the end," she added.
Last year, another couple from Aklan enlisted their own grandmothers as their flower girls on their wedding.
