Kylie Padilla hopes to remain friends with Aljur Abrenica for the sake of their sons
Kylie Padilla is hoping that she and estranged husband Aljur Abrenica can still become friends for the sake of their two children, Alas and Axl.
In an exclusive interview on "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," the actress said Aljur remains the father of her sons and she does not want them to keep slinging mud at each other.
"My kids, they're still a part of their dad. I wanna see their dad in a good way para 'pag nakikita ko ang mga anak ko, 'Tatay n'yo 'yon, you should be proud,'" she said.
"We need to co-parent and ayokong maranasan nila na toxic 'yung parents kahit hiwalay na," she added. "Ayokong tuluyan na sirain ko siya or magbatuhan kami."
Aljur recently broke his silence on their separation with a statement on social media, asking Kylie to "tell the truth" about "who cheated first" and who "wrecked" their family.
Kylie denied being unfaithful to Aljur and said she decided to end their marriage because both of them were no longer happy.
The actress also has a message to estranged husband.
"Wag natin kalimutan to be parents sa mga anak natin. Sana ma-save pa natin 'yung friendship after this. That's my goal in the end," she said.
"Kung gusto natin mag-away, whatever, let's do it in the right place, huwag na sa public. 'Yon lang ang hinihingi ko, please," she added.
Robin Padilla confirmed in a July interview that his daughter and Aljur have separated. Asked if there was a third party, Robin answered that there supposedly was on Aljur's end.
Kylie later issued a statement, saying that they are working on a co-parenting setup.
Kylie and Aljur, who tied the knot in December 2018, had been together for over 10 years.
