5 best friends get pregnant at the same time, flaunt baby bumps at maternity shoot

From matching bags in high school and pajamas during slumber parties, five best friends took their friendship up a notch by getting pregnant all at the same time.

According to Cherley Mae Nicolas, they didn't plan to have babies on a particular date. Some even hid their pregnancies until one made the reveal on their friendship monthsary last August 13.

"'Yung day na 'yon, nagsabi siya sa amin na 'Day, I have news. Buntis ako.' Tapos 'yon, natawa na lang kaming lahat. Sunod-sunod nagsabi na, 'Ako rin.'" Nicolas told Mav Gonzales on "24 Oras Weekend."

["That day, she told us, 'Day, I have news. I'm pregnant.' After that, we all laughed. One after another, we all said, 'Me too.'"]

To mark the happy coincidence, they decided to go on a maternity shoot and flaunt their baby bumps. Like everyone, even their photographer Marvin Ponce was shocked to know their story.

"Na-excite ako kasi first time ko nag-shoot ng group picture na maternity at mag-friends pa sila. Nag-wonder talaga ako kung paano nagsabay-sabay silang buntis," Ponce said.

["I got excited because it's my first time shooting a group picture for a maternity shoot and they were friends to boot. I really wondered how they ended up pregnant at the same time."]

Some of those in the friend group are already pregnant with their second children. In fact, even their first babies' birthdays are also close to each other.

The women have been best friends since 2009. With new members of their family coming, they promise to keep their friendship alive, so their babies can also stick through each other like them.
