Single? Here’s how can celebrate Valentine’s Day, according to a psychologist
For many people, Valentine's Day is the time of the year to spend time with their significant other, but do you know that single people can also celebrate on this day too?
In an interview on "The Howie Severino Podcast," psychologist Dr. Anna Tuazon said whether one was alone or in a relationship, it's important to have self-love and respect.
"So for Valentine's, celebrate what you've experienced, celebrate who you become and how you become. And appreciate what's there now," she said.
"Don't base your happiness and your love on, I'll be happy later when I get these things or when a relationship gets into the next level, etcetera."
The psychologist said single individuals could enjoy the little things, like fixing coffee, getting kids ready, or simply just having time for oneself.
"Enjoying your present, enjoying the moment, I think can be the best way, and obviously what this means is you don't need to wait for Valentine's, right? To celebrate love, to celebrate yourself, to celebrate relationships," said Tuazon. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
