Lotlot de Leon's greeting for Nadia Montenegro's 50th birthday is joy to read (that will make you tear up a bit)
First of all, a happy 50th birthday to Nadia Montenegro!
Her BFF Lotlot de Leon alerted us about the actress' landmark birthday with an Instagram post that will both make you laugh and cry at the same time.
Posting a series of three photos, the last of which will make you nostalgic for the good ol' That's Entertainment days, Lotlot's letter showcased a kind of friendship that's truly one of a kind.
"Oh Nadine," she began. "Today we celebrate you my golden girl! My sister and friend! The love and kindness you have shared with me has been nothing but a blessing," Lotlot wrote in the, uh, formal part of her letter.
And then she turned personal: Lotlot said feels like Dionne Warwick's "That's What Friends are For" was really for them. In fact, the song lyrics "keep shining, keep smiling, knowing you can always count on me" not only best describe their friendship but that it feels like Nadia singing it to her.
"Never mo akong iniwan in good times and bad times. You have always been available and never absent. You have this gift of making the people around you feel confident that whatever happens in the end everything is going to be okay," Lotlot continued.
"You have always taken that extra mile to listen and to help without asking for anything in return," she added.
From personal, Lotlot turned candid, sharing their petty argument about who's older and why she made Nadia a ninang to her wedding with Lebanese businessman Fadi El Soury.
"Cge na. Oo na mas matanda ako sayo ng isang buwan, isang buwan lang naman," she wrote. "Kaya nga ginawa kitang ninang namin ng asawa ko para hindi halata."
Before ending her heartfelt and ecstatic greeting, Lotlot just had to poke fun and comment on the last photo, a throwback from the '80s.
"Swipe to the last pic para magkaalaman na kung sino ang may pinakamataas na bangs!" She wrote.
In the comments, Nadia couldn't hide her feelings. "Lot!" She exclaimed with a crying emoji.
"I know in my heart na we will grow old together. Tayo ang may forever. Mahal kita inaanak," continued the birthday girl.
"Ok na? Masaya ka na? Tinanggap ko na!" Nadia added, laughing.
"Kahit ano pa maging papel natin sa mga buhay natin, alam ko walang makakatibag. I love you forever," Nadia said.
We don't know about you but gal pals Lotlot and Nadia just gave us a kind of friendship to emulate and strive for. And that's the best present for any birthday, if you ask us.
