Dingdong Dantes pays tribute to his dad and grandfather with a story of an 80-year-old chair

Dingdong Dantes paid tribute to his dad and his grandfather with a heartwarming story about an 80-year-old chair that's been with their family since the 1940s.

On Instagram Sunday, the Kapuso Primetime King shared a pensive photo of his ‘Daddy Jigg’ sitting on a vintage, metal-framed lounge chair, smoking a cigarette with beer bottles scattered about.

Dingdong quickly focused on the astig looking chair and said it was commissioned to his late grandfather, BGeneral Sixto Dantes, a WW2 officer.

According to Dingdong, the historic 1940s chair has already served three generations of the Dantes family.

As a fun fact, he said the very same chair served as his first infant crib, when he was born at Camp Crame in August 1980.

“Some things never get old," Dingdong said. "The success of their evolution lies in the caretakers, who really appreciate their value and significance to make them count in history."

In the same post, he shared a video of his dad demonstrating how his mom attended to him, when he was a newborn and how they turned the chair into his first crib, where he could lie comfortably.

“I am always grateful to have been under the command of this fine gentleman,” Dingdong added.

With how they preserve the 80-year-old chair, we’re pretty sure Sixto would also be able to sit on that historical piece! — LA, GMA News
