Michelle Yeoh brings her Oscar to her parents
Michelle Yeoh honored her parents by bringing her Oscar statue back home to them in Malaysia.
The top actress shared an Instagram photo of her mom, Janet Yeoh, wearing a huge smile as she holds the award, and another picture of Michelle taking the Oscar to her father’s grave.
“Brought Mr.O home….” Michelle said in her caption.
“Without my [parents’] love and trust and support… I wouldn’t be here today… love so much,” she added.
Michelle made history as the first Asian to receive the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” In her speech, she dedicated the win to her 84-year-old mom.
After the win, Janet had a video call with Michelle. “I'm very happy... I'm proud of my daughter. She is very hardworking,” Janet told reporters at the time.
