Seeing moms through the eyes of their kids

Seeing moms through the eyes of their kids

Being a parent is one of the most difficult and most important roles a person can take on. Parents can feel a lot of guilt, especially moms, because of cultural and societal expectations of what it is to be the ideal.

Moms and guilt

According to polls conducted by The Asian Parent, almost 80% of moms in the Philippines blame themselves when things don’t go right.

So many situations have led moms to guilt: when their child catches a cold because of waiting in bad weather because she was caught in traffic, letting kids have more screen time than usual because she has to focus on work, or not being able to play with them because of being physically and mentally worn out from errands and chores. These are just a few instances that have led to guilt feelings even when it isn’t their fault or when their choices don’t center around their child at that moment.

Even finding time for rest has become a source of guilt as 79% of PH moms feel guilty about wanting to rest when they’re tired, according to The Asian Parent. The idea of “the perfect mom” has made the pressure so great that many feel inadequate no matter how hard they may be trying to make things work.

How to sing a song of love for moms

Because of attempting to check off all the items in the supposed criteria imposed by society for being an ideal mom, they may forget to look to their kids to really know how well they are doing. NIDO 3+ finds a way to turn the attention to the realities of being a mother and show us how all the perceived flaws that create mom guilt are actually seen by our children.

You’re My #1, NIDO 3+’s heartfelt ode to the mom-child bond has always sung of how kids are #1 in the eyes of their moms. This time, the spotlight is instead shone on mothers and how they are #1 in the eyes of their kids.

The iconic first line of the song that usually brings focus on the child is now reversed. It shows the beauty of motherhood through the eyes of a child who has come across their first definition of love and care: Look at you, mom.

Let’s take a look at the new ode to moms from NIDO 3+

NIDO 3+’s new version of You’re My #1 shows that our children see the best in us even through the flaws and weaknesses we see in ourselves. Not feeling beautiful? You’re the prettiest princess to your kid. Ending up fumbling a new recipe? Your child thinks you are the best chef with all the meals you’ve cooked. To your child, you’re a superhero, a guardian angel, and more, if only you saw yourself through their eyes.

The demands on mothers have always been great but here we see that the intentions we have, the tiredness we feel, or the efforts we put in are all felt by our kids. They love us even when we think we aren’t enough. It’s the reminder of how we should put things in perspective: Reality is messy and imperfect but moms make it better for their kids, and that is what makes moms #1.

NIDO 3+ assures us that moms are #1 in the eyes of their children, simply because it’s true. As we listen closely to the song, we can hear that our kids’ voices are what matter instead of the self-doubt inside.

While mothers everywhere take on each day tackling the needs of their toddlers, NIDO 3+ not only helps them fulfill their nutritional essentials but also takes time to give moms the appreciation and motivation to see that their strength and love are felt by their children every day -- truly, NIDO is the #1Ally of all #1Moms.
