"I had to process everything, and I wanted to quiet the noise. I didn't want to hear other's people's opinions, suggestions, comments because artista na ako, ayaw kong gawing teleserye 'yung buhay namin," she added.

Max said that she and Pancho agreed to keep quiet about their separation, but it was amicable.

"Every separation is difficult, but it was amicable," she said.

"We were not working [out], and we needed to try spending time apart to see how that would work because we have a son to think about," she added.

However, Max said that she and Pancho fought hard to keep their relationship alive before calling it quits.

"We've been together for eights years total. Nilaban namin hangga't kaya ng mga puso namin in a sense where dumating 'yung point na we stopped becoming in denial about it," she said.

"I didn't want to lie to myself anymore, and I think he didn't want to as well," she added.

As of the interview, Max said she is in a "very good place" with Pancho, and they have a good co-parenting relationship for their son.

"That's why I'm ready to talk about it now because we're in a good place. I actually got his blessing to do an interview with you," Max said.

"We're in a very good place now. Our child is almost three, and he's very happy and healthy, and we have a very good co-parenting relationship," she added.

"We're the best of friends, [and] we're closer now."

Pancho and Max welcomed Skye in 2020. A year later, the two sparked breakup rumors when they held separate birthday parties for their son.
