Chinese man who grew up in PH reunites with biological family in China after 30 years
It's a sweet reunion for a Chinese man who grew up in the Philippines and his biological family in China!
On Sunday's episode of "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," Jiaxing shared his story and how he found his way to meet his family in China after three long decades.
According to Jiaxing, when he was still a baby, he was kidnapped and sold to a family in Fujian, China. Years later, when he became an adult, he found his way to the Philippines to make a living.
The 34-year-old landed a job in a department store in Davao until he successfully mounted his own business venture, got married, and built a family.
In 2018, Jiaxing learned about a center in China where he could gather information about his relatives through a blood sample. From there, he took his shot and sent his blood sample.
"Mayroon ako kaibigan na uuwi sa aming lugar so pinadala ko ang dugo," he told KMJS.
("I had a friend who was coming home so I sent my blood sample with him.")
It wasn't until three years later when Jiaxing got a call from a policeman through the center where he sent his blood samples. It turned out the policeman who was trying to reach him was his biological brother, Wang Gang.
At first, he didn't want to get his hopes up that Wang Gang was his brother, so they underwent DNA testing.
"99.9% na ako ay anak na at kapatid. Positive," Jiaxing said.
("It's 99.9% positive that I was their child and sibling.")
After this fateful moment, Jiaxing flew to China together with his wife Sheena and two children just last month to meet his biological family after almost three decades of being apart.
When Jiaxing and his family arrived at Zunyi City in Guizhou, China, he was shocked that his entire biological family was waiting for him with a welcoming banner.
"Umiyak na agad ang mama ko tapos [ni-hug] niya kaagad ako. Tapos nagulat ako, wala na akong reaction," he said.
("My mom cried right away and hugged me. I was shocked and couldn't react.")
"Sabi niya, 'Anak, sorry talaga. Hindi ko sinasadya. Malaki ang kasalanan ko. Pasensya ka na'," he added. "Tapos sabi ko, 'Okay lang, ma. Okay lang, tapos na 'yun. Huwag mo na isipin kasi andito na ako'."
("She said, 'Son, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for it to happen. I made a big mistake. I apologize. I said, 'It's okay, mom. It's okay, it’s in the past. Don't think about it anymore because I'm here now.")
Meanwhile, Jiaxing's wife, Sheena, said he has been waiting for this moment all his life.
"Deserve po niya 'yan kasi napakabuting tao niya po," Sheena said.
"Sinagot na ng Panginoon 'yung panalangin niya na maging buo ang pagkatao niya," she added.
("He deserves it because he's a good person. God answered his prayer after all these years")
For Jiaxing, meeting his biological family completed the missing piece in his life.
"Kumpleto na ako. Wala nang kulang sa buhay ko. Masaya rin ako. Parang gusto ko na mag-enjoy na lang kasama ng family," he said.
("I'm complete. There's nothing missing in my life. I'm happy. I want to enjoy the rest of my life with my family.")
