Benjamin Alves' birthday letter to dad 5 years after he passed will tug at your heartstring
Benjamin Alves wrote a touching birthday letter to his dad, Ebet Sapida, five years after he's passed away.
Sharing old photos on Instagram, the Kapuso actor gave his father some important life updates as he began with disbelief. "I can’t believe it’s been 5 years since you’ve left us," Ben said.
"I’m getting married soon, Dad. I wish you could’ve met Chelsea. You would love her," he continued, mentioning his fiancee, the model Chelsea Robato.
"I bet you’d say I did good. And to be good to her. I will dad," Ben promised.
The actor, who graduated summa cum laude from the University of Guam with a degree in English Literature, continued his letter with an imagining his wedding.
"It would’ve been so nice to see you at the altar in a suit, with mom in a long gown. You two would’ve looked beautiful," Ben wrote.
"Maybe wear one anyway on our big day? I know you’ll be looking down and celebrating with us," he continued.
Ben promised his father that he'll become "a good husband" to his fiance "because of everything you’ve taught me."
Saying he missed his father, Ben ended his note with a birthday greeting and a sincere I love you.
"Please visit us once in awhile," he said.
Benjamin Alves lost his dad in 2018.
He confirmed his relationship with Chelsea in 2019, saying, "what you see is what you get."
In 2022 they announced their engagement, with Chelsea saying they are tying the knot in 2024.
