Maine Mendoza, Arjo Atayde hold 'pamamanhikan' with families
Soon-to-wed couple Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde have ticked-off a pre-wedding tradition from their to-do list!
On Instagram, Arjo's mom, Sylvia Sanchez, shared photos from the night of their "pamamanhikan."
"The Ataydes & Mendozas will soon merge as one family," she wrote in the caption with a heart emoji.
In a separate post, the seasoned actress shared a video clip that seemed to be taken inside their vehicle on their way to the Mendoza family's home.
Pamamanhikan is a Filipino tradition where the groom and his family formally asks the bride's family for her hand in marriage.
Sylvia has always shown her support for the couple.
In April, she posted a clip of the couple and thanked Maine for being Arjo's adventure buddy.
In July, she also vowed to "take care and love" Maine as her "own daughter."
Maine revealed that she and Arjo started dating in 2019.
The couple announced their engagement in July 2022, exactly nine years after Maine posted her iconic "Arjo cutie" tweet.
