'We're going strong,' says Gatchalian after Bianca Manalo's alleged cheating issue

"We're going strong."

This was Senator Sherwin Gatchalian's comment weeks after his girlfriend Bianca Manalo was dragged into a controversy with the latter's "Magandang Dilag" co-star Rob Gomez.

"I'm okay. I will be very short with my comments, but I'm okay. We're okay. We're going strong," Gatchalian said in an ANC interview, apparently referring to his relationship with Manalo.

In December last year, screenshots of Manalo and Gomez's alleged conversation made rounds online, insinuating that the two were involved in an affair.

Manalo then posted a statement on Instagram clarifying the "false rumors circulating on the internet."

"Rob Gomez and I are friends and co-workers. He was going to bring Christmas gifts and I wanted to receive them early before I leave for the airport."

She added that the screenshots posted had missing parts of their conversations.

"It is upsetting that our conversations were exposed without my consent, which is a breach of privacy and the cause of so much online bashing. It is obvious that parts of our conversation were deleted to create malicious insinuations," the Sparkle artist said.

After Manalo's public statement, Gatchalian assured that "no fake news will divide" their relationship.

Before this, however, Gatchalian merely gave a short response when asked about the controversy: "No comment." — VDV, GMA Integrated News
