Maxene Magalona recalls favorite memory with late dad Francis M.

Maxene Magalona talked about her late dad, Francis M., on Thursday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda."

Maxene talked about fondest memory with the OPM icon and said that she misses him so much.

"Lalo na the kind of person that he was, nakaka-miss talaga siya," she said.

"My favorite memory is when he would pick me up from school in Katipunan and we would drive going back to Antipolo just the two of us," she added.

She said that during their drive back home, the Master Rapper would share nuggets of wisdom with her.

"He would talk to me about 'yung trabaho namin, that we shouldn't look down on other people just because we're on television. He made sure na naintindihan ko 'yon, that we were not more special or more important, na lahat tayo'y pantay-pantay. And this is what he would sing about in 'Kaleidoscope World,' right?" she said.

Maxene also recalled that he would always tell her: "People will not remember what you said or what you did, but they will always remember how you made them feel."

"He has that energy where he allows you to be yourself and he holds space for you," she said, adding that Francis did so because he knew the feeling of being judged.

"He knows the feeling of being looked at and pointed for your flaws, but then he wants to be that person that 'I'm not gonna judge you 'cause I want to make you feel what it's like not to be judged,'" she said.

Francis "Kiko" Magalona died in 2009 due to leukemia. The Master Rapper's hit songs include "Mga Kababayan," "3 Stars and a Sun," and "Ito ang Gusto Ko."

In 2022, Francis M appeared as a hologram at the Eraserheads reunion concert. He performed his verse in the opening number "Superproxy" alongside his sons Elmo and Arkin.

Last March, Maxene paid tribute to Francis on his 15th death anniversary.

Maxene also memorably released a stripped-down version of the Francis M classic "Kaleidoscope World." She said wanted to highlight the powerful and timeless meaning of the '90s song.

Maxene also dedicated her healing journey to her dad.
