LJ Moreno recalls adoption story of son Ian Maximus
LJ Moreno has always had a heart for adopting a child.
On Wednesday’s episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” the mom of four looked back to the time when she and her husband, former basketball player Jimmy Alapag, decided to adopt a child.
“Before our son [Ian], there was another child na na-award sa amin [for adoption]," LJ began.
But "kahit mayroon ng desisyon, ayaw ibigay," she continued. So imbes na maging negative, parang naging positive. Parang OK Lord bahala ka na.”
But the call for adoption was clear in LJ's heart, so the couple decided to try and adopt another child again, a boy whom they named Ian Maximus.
“Our eldest son, we adopted him when he was one and a half,” the former actress shared.
“Two days after we brought our son home, I found out that I was pregnant,” LJ added.
According to LJ, she and Jimmy have different views when it comes to adoption. While she's always been for it, her husband Jimmy, "'yung take niya that time was, 'let’s try to have our own first before we adopt',” she shared.
LJ and Jimmy got married in August 2010, and had Keona in 2014 — the same year they adopted Ian.
They have two other children, Calen Asher and Cayson Amory. The family of six is currently living in the United States.
