Alden Richards mourns passing of his grandfather

Alden Richards is mourning the death of his grandfather.

According to Iya Villania's report on "24 Oras," Thursday, Alden's grandfather passed away two weeks ago, the reason why he went on a social media break.

Alden said it reminded him about the importance of family more than anything.

"Drop everything. Walang makakapigil sa 'kin kahit sino when it comes to family. If something goes wrong or something happens kasi, of course, we live in a very demanding world of show business, but iba kasing usapan 'pag pamilya na eh," he said.

"Of course, a lot of Filipinos and a lot of our kababayans can relate to that. Blessed lang ako," Alden said.

Alden just turned 33 years old earlier this month.

He recently starred in GMA Prime series "Pulang Araw" with Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, David Licauco, and Dennis Trillo.

In November, his film with Kathryn Bernardo, "Hello, Love, Again," became the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time after hitting cinemas both in the Philippines and internationally.
