Dina Bonnevie shares how she communicates with in-laws Kristine Hermosa, Marc Pingris
Dina Bonnevie has her own approach to fostering positive relationships with her in-laws, Kristine Hermosa and Marc Pingris, emphasizing the importance of clear boundaries and a strategic communication style.
On Tuesday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the veteran actress said that she treats Kristine, whom she affectionately calls Tin, like her own daughter but with enforced boundaries.
According to Dina, with Tin, she refrains from offering unsolicited advice on personal matters like clothing choices or household arrangements.
“Kay Tin, medyo hindi ko puwedeng pakialaman ‘yung outfit niya. Tipong gano’n,” she said. “Parang, ‘O, Danica, may mga kalat diyan, dapat maayos ‘yung bahay, gan’yan, gan’yan.’ Hindi ko pwedeng gawin ‘yun kay Tin.”
Dina stressed that “there are certain boundaries na, siyempre, hindi ko siya anak.”
Her strategy for addressing any concerns or observations with her in-laws is to speak directly to her own children, Oyo Boy Sotto and Danica Sotto.
“If I notice something, I will speak to my son. Not to Tin,” she said. “Kunyari, I’ll tell my son, ‘Oyo, napansin ko parang ganito, hindi ba dapat ganito? Question lang, why?’ And then he’ll explain.”
“I wouldn’t also go to Marc diretso. Kung may napapansin ako, sasabihin ko lang, ‘O, Danica, you know, like when you were growing up, if your titos or titas came to the house, o lolo, lola, the kids would come down and kiss lolo, lola. So where are the kids? How come they haven’t come down to greet their Mama D?’” Dina said.
Kristine and Oyo have been married since 2011. They have six kids.
Marc and Danica tied the knot in 2007. They have three children.
Meanwhile, Dina currently stars in “My Father’s Wife” with Kylie Padilla, Gabby Concepcion, and Kazel Kinouchi.
