'The Summer I Turned Pretty': Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno weigh in on the ideal kind of love
The world has fallen in love with Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno, the leading men in the hit show "The Summer I Turned Pretty." But to them, what is love supposed to be like?
In an interview with GMA Integrated News' Lyn Ching, Briney, who plays the flawed but loveable Conrad, said that honesty matters the most in relationships.
"And that's, for Conrad, a lesson too," he said. "Good things come from honesty."
"Without it nothing can really survive," he added.
Casalegno, who plays the ever charismatic Jeremiah, said that the best love is the selfless kind of love.
"The love where you think about yourself the least, and the other person the most," he said. "That's typically where you will have better communication, you're not as prideful or selfish. The more you can think about the other person that you love and what they need, the more that they can also think about what you need."
"It's not a 50/50 it's a 100/100," he added.
Jenny Han, the creative mind behind the original book trilogy that the series is based on, shared her non-negotiable for women.
"Somebody who celebrates you as you are, and is down to be on the journey with you," she said.
In "The Summer I Turned Pretty," Belly (Lola Tung) is caught between brothers Conrad and Jeremiah.
The story of the trio came to an end with the series finale last week. The love triangle has been the talk of the internet in recent months.
Following the conclusion of Season 3, Amazon announced that it will be producing a movie. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
