KC Concepcion says she grieved loss of grandmother during 7-year hiatus from showbiz
KC Concepcion guested in "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Wednesday where she opened up about her seven-year hiatus from show business.
A child of showbiz royalty, KC shared that privacy was the reason why she decided to step away from the spotlight.
"It was a long time pero kasama po dun 'yung 2020, 'yung nangyari 'yung [pandemic], so hindi ko inakalang tatagal pa ng another three years. I think, 'yun nga, parang it's the right time and nagbalik ako and I'm here," she said.
According to KC, she no longer felt happy at that point because it was also around the time she lost her grandmother, Elaine Gamboa-Cuneta, whom she fondly calls Mita Elaine.
"Parang wala na akong ligayang nakukuha kasi parang siguro 'nung time na 'yun, nawala din 'yung lola ko, si Mita Elaine, and then nag-cope talaga 'yung buong family," she said.
She described her supportive grandma as the type of person who would always be first in the audience and the last to leave any auditorium or studio.
"May time na talagang nag-grieve po ako sa lola ko. 'Yun po 'yung totoo dun, nagluksa po ako dahil kay Mita Elaine," she said.
Elaine Gamboa-Cuneta, the mother of Sharon Cuneta, passed away at the age of 79 in 2014.
