AiAi Delas Alas sells wedding, engagement rings to Boss Toyo: ‘Para may closure na rin’

AiAi Delas Alas is trying to turn over a new leaf.

The Kapuso commedienne has sold her wedding and engagement rings to Boss Toyo, saying "part din 'to ng closure."

“Ang gusto ko, ang aking pain ay ida-divert ko sa hope,” she said on “Pinoy Pawnstars.”

According to the Comedy Queen, she lost her diamond-crusted wedding ring three times, with her ex-husband Gerald Sibayan buying her a new one each time.  

“I think ‘yun ay sign," she said.

AiAi said proceeds from the sale of the rings will be used to help cancer patients through the organization Life Saver.

“Bukod sa ayoko na rin maalala, para may closure na rin. And maganda ‘yung closure kasi may pupuntahan siyang maganda,” Aiai said.

Aiai added that while Gerald does not have a high income, he still got her lovely rings.

And while the breakup was painful, she maintains they still have good memories. “Ayoko naman maging bitter kasi syempre naiintindihan ko naman na bata pa siya, na magbabago isip niya.”

On "Pinoy Pawnstars," she recalled their decade together, saying in the first few years "OK siya."

"Pero kasi nag-cheat na rin siya ika-third year, so hindi na rin masaya," AiAi said.

Still, she was shocked that their relationship ended.

“Hindi ako ready,” she said. “More of shock than pain. Iba iba ‘yung phase eh, later on na ‘yung pain.”

“Alam ko naman na wala ‘kong pagkukulang sa kanya kasi ‘yung time na nag-cheat siya is tinanggap ko pa rin siya.”

Aiai decided to sell the rings for P350,000. Boss Toyo bargained for P250,000, which was the final deal.

In an October 2024 “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview, AiAi confirmed her separation from Gerald after 10 years of being together.

"Basta hindi ko makakalimutan. October 14, nag-chat siya, madaling araw sa Pilipinas. 'Yun nga. Sinabi niya na gusto niya magkaanak at hindi na siya happy," AiAi said.

"So medyo confused ako and shocked, and bakit ngayon? Bakit ngayong oras na 'to? Sana hinintay mo man lang ako makauwi sa Amerika," she added.

AiAi said one of Gerald's reasons for their separation was his desire to have children. The actress, who is already 60 years old, can no longer naturally conceive a baby.

The actress tearfully said that she and Gerald tried to conceive a child via in vitro fertilization (IVF), but they lost two of their three embryos.

AiAi also revealed that Gerald cheated on her in 2019, which gave her trust issues.

In December 2024, AiAi said she and Gerald are not on speaking terms.

A year after she confirmed their split, AiAi admitted to still dealing with the pain of heartbreak. 

Here's hoping the sale of her rings will help AiAi move on and move forward.
