Carla Abellana pokes fun at previous marriage: 'Konti na lang ma-bi-beat ko na 'yung dating record ko'  

A visibly happy Carla Abellana guested on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Wednesday to talk about her recent wedding with Dr. Reginald Santos, their past as high school sweethearts, and their future as a married couple.

When asked what she's looking forward to, Carla said "life as a married woman, as a wife" before poking a refreshing joke at her previous, short-lived marriage.

"Nag-jo-joke nga ako. We're married two weeks, so konti na lang ma-bi-beat ko na yung dating record ko," Carla said laughing.

"Kung dati, nagtagal po ng seven weeks, five more weeks ma-bi-beat ko na ang sarili kong record," she added.

Riding the joke, Tito Boy asked if there's going to be a celebration, to which Carla happily answered in the affirmative.

"Yes! Dapat meron (celebration) by the seventh week."

Turning serious, the Kapuso actress said, she's looking forward to experiencing the married life. "Whether the honey moon stage, a challenge na dumaan — whatever it is that's part of getting married and experiencing married life for the first time," Carla said.

In the interview, she said it was still her dream to have a baby and start her own family.

In fact, Carla already had her eggs frozen, a process that her husband was very much a part of.

"He's supportive. He was there, supporting me. At one point, he gave me my daily injections. He was present and supportive."

Carla and Reginald tied the knot last December 27 in an intimate ceremony in Cavite.

She was previously married to actor Tom Rodriguez. They tied the knot in October 2021 and announced their divorce in June 2022. 

Upon Carla's announcement of her engagement to Reginald last December, Tom wished them well. "I’m glad to know everyone is moving on. We all deserve,” he said. 

Tom himself has remarried. In November 2024, he revealed to have a son he named Korben.
