Shaira Diaz on those who don't practice celibacy before marriage: 'No judgment'

Shaira Diaz and Kristel Fulgar had been open about their decision to remain celibate before getting married to their respective partners.

The two ladies talked about their stories as "virgin brides" in Kristel's vlog, including some of the comments they had been receiving from the public.

During their interview, Shaira said she read a comment that said, "Dahil sa story n'yo, parang tuloy ang dumi-dumi ko."

"I'm sure joke niya lang naman 'yon, but still hindi mo naman kailangan mag-regret kung naibigay mo kaagad siya. No judgment about that. Sino ba kami para i-judge sila, 'di ba?" the Kapuso Morning Sunshine said in response.

Kristel added that they get comments that they overshare about celibacy on social media, but it is their way to motivate the youth to uphold their values.

For Shaira and Kristel, sharing their decision to stay celibate before marriage is about raising awareness.

"Possible and doable siya," Shaira said.

"Magandang awareness din talaga. Lalo na sa Pilipinas, hello? Ang hirap na kaya ng buhay natin 'di ba. Ang hirap bumuo ng pamilya sa Pilipinas lalo na kung wala kang family planning 'di ba. Ang daming maagang nabubuntis kasi hindi sila educated sa ganung bagay," she added.

Kristel also said that being a virgin at her age before marriage was something to be proud of.

"Sabi nila iba na 'yung generation ngayon. Pero natutuwa pa rin ako sa mga nag-ki-keep pa rin ng promise nila sa sarili nila kagaya natin," Kristel said.

Shaira married EA Guzman in August 2025 after dating for 12 years. The couple said they plan on having a baby this year.

Meanwhile, Kristel married Suhyuk Ha in 2025.
