Ara Davao remembers dad Ricky Davao on 1st death anniversary

Ara Davao paid tribute to her late father, veteran actor Ricky Davao, on his first death anniversary.

On Instagram, Ara shared a carousel of photos with her father, accompanied by a heartfelt message reflecting on life without him over the past year.

“Dear Pa, I can’t believe we made it through one whole year without you. Some days, it just feels like yesterday because the pain never left,” she wrote, expressing how deeply she misses both his presence during major milestones and in everyday moments at home.

She also fondly recalled her father’s playful side, saying she continues to think about what he would have advised her in both big and small decisions.

“I’ll spend the rest of my life wishing we had one more day, one more meal, or even just one more moment,” she added, vowing to honor his memory and share stories about him with her nieces, nephews, and future children.

Ara’s mother, actress Jackie Lou Blanco, responded in the comments, saying, “Aww anak… so much love for your Papa that you will forever have in your heart.”

Sister Rikki Mae Davao also shared Ara's post on her Instagram Stories.

Ricky passed away in May 2025 after facing complications related to cancer. He was 63 years old. Tributes from fellow celebrities instantly poured in on social media.

With a career spanning over 40 years, Ricky was best known for his roles in "Abot Hanggang Sukdulan," "Saranggola," and "Ipaglaban Mo The Movie," which earned him accolades from FAMAS, Gawad Urian, and the Metro Manila Film Festival, among others.

Ricky made a memorable performance as Governor Emil in "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre." His last appearance on the show was in September 2025.
