Jake Cuenca admits relationship with Rabiya Mateo

Jake Cuenca admitted that he and Rabiya Mateo are already in a relationship, after months of rumors and sightings.

"Kami na," the actor said on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Wednesday. "Really, really proud to say it. She's an amazing woman. Incredible woman."

Jake further described Rabiya as very kind and super intelligent.

Jake shared their love story started when he started liking Rabiya's posts, followed her on social media, then sent her a DM.

"Sabi ko, how else magko-cross 'yung paths namin? We're two different networks," Jake said.

"She's always definitely been a crush of mine. And once tinapos ko 'yung dalawang programa ko, once I was able to you know, finish my responsibilities, I had to shoot my shot and I messaged her on social media," he added.

Jake said what he loves most about Rabiya is her dedication, especially now as she is taking a break from showbiz to go to medical school at the University of Santo Tomas.

"I'm truly proud of her," Jake said.

He added that their relationship is "very happy."

During their trip to Hong Kong Disneyland, Rabiya received her acceptance message to med school. It was also where Jake asked Rabiya to be his girlfriend.

"We've been dating for three months and then finally, I asked her to be my girlfriend officially," Jake said.

"This is also one thing na I wasn't able to do in the relationships I had in the past," he added. "Before I would date or be in a relationship and say let's see where this goes as special as this is. I never used to date a woman with purpose. And for me with her, I have a purpose."

Jake said he tries to be a responsible boyfriend, and promises loyalty and respect.

Jake also said he can see himself marrying Rabiya.

"I don't wanna spoil it, ayokong magsalita nang ganun, but definitely with her, I can really see it."

Jake was previously in a relationship with Chie Filomeno, while Rabiya was with Jeric Gonzales. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
