Sam Verzosa on breakup with Rhian Ramos: 'Sobrang minahal ko si Rhian'

Sam Verzosa has opened up about his breakup with Rhian Ramos.

On “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Monday, the businessman said he was hesitant to do the interview and that it would be the last time he would talk about the issue as it is very personal.

“What we had was real. Sobrang minahal ko si Rhian,” Sam said, and added that their time together was “one of the happiest days of my life.”

“I’m so grateful na naging parte ako ng buhay niya and ako rin sa kanya,” he said.

“But sometimes, even two people care about each other, I don’t know, life brings you in different directions. ‘Tas may mga nangyayaring bagay na hindi mo kontrolado, na we both felt it’s best for us to move forward separately."

According to Sam, he does not have any anger and wishes peace, happiness, and genuine success for Rhian. He also wants to remember their happy memories together.

Sam noted that he and Rhian had planned to get married.

“We really thought na that time, ‘yun na, we were meant for each other,” he said.

He also told Tito Boy that the recent 2025 elections, in which he ran for Manila mayor, did not play a role in their breakup.

“I don’t wanna connect politics, ‘yung kasal, or whatever to what happened because nung election, andun si Rhian during my hardest battle kumbaga sa buhay ko. And I’m so grateful for that,” Sam said.

“I felt the genuine love, care. She fought with me, she believed in me, she believed in what I’m fighting for. And when you have that person dun sa pinakamahirap na laban mo sa buhay, you never forget about them,” he added.

During his interview, Sam also revealed that he and Rhian initially broke up during their first year together in 2022. The reason was that Sam ran for Congress, and Rhian did not want to have a partner involved in politics “because of all the negativity and corruption issues, et cetera.”

“I couldn’t even post kasi pag-aawayan namin. We couldn’t talk about it, I couldn’t post,” he said.

“I think after some time, Rhian saw whatever I was doing, all the philanthropy, all the help, lahat ng tumatakbo sa ‘kin sa tulong, lahat ng binibigyan ko ng negosyo, lahat ng taong umaasa sa ‘kin," he added.

After four years together, Sam learned that “not all relationships are perfect.”

“Love is not enough. There’s trust, loyalty, respect, peace of mind, and that’s what matters,” he said, adding that he became a better person because of Rhian.

Sam also shared that he and Rhian no longer talk.

It was in March when Rhian confirmed their breakup on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” saying they had been separated since October 2025. She also said that Wil Dasovich had nothing to do with the breakup.

Rhian and Sam confirmed their relationship at the GMA Gala 2022. Last August, they celebrated their fourth anniversary.

In December 2025, eagle-eyed netizens noticed that the two had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
