Celeste Cortesi addresses previous breakup rumors with partner Jonathan Sterling
Celeste Cortesi has addressed previous rumors of her and boyfriend Jonathan Sterling breaking up.
On "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Wednesday, the former beauty queen and soon-to-be mom said that every relationship has its ups and downs.
"It's just unfortunate that I'm still a public figure, so somehow something comes out," Celeste said.
"It's also not easy when you're pregnant and you know, you're already going through a lot privately and then it becomes also public," she added.
Celeste also said that she and Jonathan have a normal relationship, "and it's just very unfortunate that it got out in a bad way, I guess."
She added that although they have a documentary series, they maintain boundaries in what to share.
"Especially when it involves pregnancy and having a child together, I think it's important that people always maintain respect around the relationship," she said. "We solve things between the two of us."
Celeste said no relationship is perfect and it is OK to have not so good moments together.
"The important thing is that we know the truth and we know what happened, and we just keep it between ourselves. And whatever interpretation that of course the media had about that, it's also not actually what happened," she said.
Celeste admitted that they had moments where they had to "take space or separate."
"Again, it's just about recognizing that there is always ups and downs. And as long as we're able to be honest with each other and just talk about it between family, I think that's the most important thing," she said.
Celeste and Jonathan's relationship has always remained private, with the beauty queen rarely posting about him.
In April, Celeste announced her pregnancy. Later that month, she announced that she will be having a baby boy she will name Sergio.
Celeste represented the Philippines at Miss Universe 2022, where she bowed out early from the competition.
In a 2023 episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Celeste opened up about coping with the pain of her early exit from the Miss Universe pageant.
In 2024, she launched her beauty brand Asul. It offers several makeup products, including peptide lip balm, lip liners, and blush. It's available in select Beauty Bar stores.
Celeste's docuseries "Celeste Unscripted," premiered on August 8. It airs every Saturday at 10:30 p.m. on GTV. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
