Giant buko pie, puto cheese cap cooperative month in Iloilo

A giant buko pie and puto cheese highlighted the observance of National Cooperatives Month in Oton Town in Iloilo province Thursday.

 

The giant delicacies prepared by Oton residents measured more than two meters wide, GMA Iloilo's Rudjemar Sucaldito reported.

 

Residents used some 350 coconuts, 11 liters of milk and 13 kilos of flour and cornstarch to make the giant buko pie.

 

Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. led the ceremonial slicing of the giant food items last Wednesday.

 

Wednesday's event was part of activities seeking to promote awareness of the benefits of cooperatives to local traders. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
