Figaro whips up Christmas drinks, treats, and gift ideas

‘Tis the season for yummy Yuletide treats once more, as Figaro Coffee Company presents its holiday-themed beverages, desserts, and special items for 2014.

 

Figaro invited bloggers to a special event held last November 18 at Taipan Place, which showcased the coffee chain’s new holiday-themed product lines: Yuletide Drinks, Yuletide Sweets, and Yuletide Gifts.

 

This year, Figaro prepared two special Christmas coffee flavors. The Praline-flavored beverage adds a sugary, nutty twist to Figaro’s regular coffee blend. Meanwhile, cookie butter fans will definitely want to try the Speculoos-flavored drink. Mixing Figaro coffee and the ever-popular cookie spread, the drink features the strong, distinct taste of cookie butter, with creamy consistency and a caffeine kick.

 

The Praline and Speculoos coffee flavors are available in both Frost and Latte variants, and are served with special Christmas cookies.

 

Figaro also offers Christmas-themed desserts to go with their holiday coffee treats. The Red Velvet Cake, a staple of many a Yuletide-themed cafe menu, balances just the right amount of fluffy sweetness with a slightly moist cake. The Hummingbird Cake showcases the taste of bananas and walnuts in cake form.

 

If you’re looking for an alternative to the typical fruitcake, the Seasoned Prune Cake bar is worth trying. Its moist texture and fruity flavor makes it a perfect complement to Figaro’s standard blend.

 

The Christmas Sugar Cookies, however, are not as sweet as their name suggests. The cookies (which are available in the shape of Santa Claus, a snowman, and a gingerbread man) are dry and crunchy, perhaps created to match Figaro’s sugary Frost drinks. 

 

The real stars of the Yuletide Sweets line, however, are the Cranberry White Dream Bars. Topped with white chocolate and available in Christmas tree and mistletoe designs, the Dream Bars are a lot like cranberry-filled brownies.

 

Lastly, coffee lovers looking for gift ideas could also purchase Figaro-themed mugs, stainless thermo bottles, notebooks, or even a massive gingerbread cookie house. — VC, GMA News
