Cebu cops open ‘honesty’ coffee shop

To promote honesty in Cebu City, the local police there have set up an "honesty" coffee shop at their headquarters.

Dubbed "Honesto Coffee Shop," the establishment run by the city police's cooperative is found at the city police headquarters lobby, GMA Cebu's Bexmae Jumao-as reported.

Its logo is a mascot with a long nose - a reference to Pinocchio, the fairy tale character whose nose would grow longer the more he lied.

Buyers can get food items as well as noodles and fruits - and leave their payment at the counter.

What's even better is that some of the food products are made by inmates at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center.

The shop also takes a cue from an honesty cafe in Batanes, where customers drop payment into a box at the counter and list what they took. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
