The dry (summer) season may be over, but ice cream remains a popular treat—especially if it has an accompanying feast for the eyes.

A shop in Cebu City is attracting customers' attention with its ice cream, which is solidified at the table using liquid nitrogen, GMA Cebu's Nikko Sereno reported.

Customers who enter the shop are greeted with smoke from the extra-cold dessert.

The ice cream is prepared before them, with store staff mixing fresh fruits, milk, and cream.

Once the ingredients are mixed, the liquid nitrogen is added to quickly freeze the product.

The liquid nitrogen then boils away into a vapor, creating the "steam" effect, so the customer does not actually ingest it.

A cup of the ice cream costs P95, while a matching brownie dessert costs P78.

"Sobrang sarap and new experience.  Everyone should try this," said customer Janice Jao.

"Parang walang iba na gumamit ng liquid nitrogen dito sa Cebu. Masaya siya na experience," added customer Adrian Muntuerto.

The store is the fourth in the country to offer liquid nitrogen ice cream. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
