Does a daintily designed food box help whet one's appetite?
"Don't judge a book by its cover" we've been told, but does good design make something else, for example...food taste better?
The team behind And A Half Studios, a design company that specializes in branding, makes a case for aesthetics amplifying our appreciation of a meal.
On Saturday, they'll discuss the effects of packaging, "experience design", and other small details that affect our appetite in big ways in "Digesting Design: Design, Food and the Filipino" at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila (MET).

And A Half Studios is behind some of Metro Manila's more iconic restaurants and pubs, like La Lola Churreria, Le Petit Souffle, 12 Monkeys, Crisp on 28th, and The Bowery.
Admission for the talk, which starts at 3 pm, is P150 (regular) and P120 (students). The fee is inclusive of a guided tour of MET's "TAPAS: Spanish Design for Food" exhibit, which starts at 2 pm.
For reservations, contact MET at 708-7828. Interested parties may also register for the talk through an online form. — APG, GMA News
