Free coffee, ‘kilig’, and more treats at Maginhawa café on Araw ng Kape

For those who embrace the bitterness of coffee, something special is brewing on October 1st. Enthusiasts are invited to join "Araw ng Kape" at KKK Coffee in Maginhawa, the cafe's celebration of International Coffee Day.

KKK Coffee founder Brian Tenorio will personally be preparing free coffee from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., which guests can enjoy while listening to a series of "coffee talks."

Leading the list of speakers is Anj Ferreria Tan, chef and managing partner of the Barista and Coffee Academy of Asia, who will discuss "Coffee Exhibitions."

Tenorio will then tap into the #hugot culture and speak about "Kape at Kilig" to explore the relationship of coffee and Filipino romance. Project Saysay founder and executive director Ian Alfonso will expand on that localization with "The Filipinization of Coffee," followed by Food Holidays publisher Clang Garcia's "Eat Your History."

MAIS and One and a Half Men will close the program with an improv performance.

Admission to the event is free and for night owls, KKK is also hosting an after-party at 9 p.m. — Aya Tantiangco/BM, GMA News

KKK Coffee is at 154 Maginhawa Street, Quezon City.
