US food truck serves longga-burgers!
Longganisa burgers in the US? That’s exactly what Flip’N Patties, a food truck in Houston, Texas, has in store.
“Our goal is to share our Filipino culture and our food, marrying it with something familiar for everybody, like the burger,” a member of the Flip ‘N Patties team tells food website Eater.
It’s not just longganisa burgers — lovingly called "Jeepney," BTW — that Flip ‘N Patties serve, in fact. The food truck also has our famous silogs in their menu, as well as lumpia, ice cream burgers (complete with condensed milk!), halo-halo, and banana ketchup aioli.
They have cute very Filipino names for their dishes, too. Apart from Jeepney, there’s also a burger called the "Amboy"(with bacon) one called "Puet" (that's smoked pork butt for you) another called "Brekpas" (comes with spam and fried egg) and a "Bedgee" (as in vegetarian).
And for complete Filipino introduction, the food truck doubles as a karaoke joint in the evening. But of course.
