Coffee artist and barista Lee Kang Bin joins Coffee Fest 2017
The barista who captured Vincent Van Gogh's "The Starry Night" in a coffee cup is here in Manila and is ready to serve masterpieces.
South Korean barista Lee Kang Bin joins the Coffee Festival at the Atrium of SM Mall of Asia this Friday afternoon (September 15, 3pm).
"See you all [on Friday] at SM Mall of Asia Atrium as I create my biggest #CreamArt ever," he wrote on his personal Instagram account on Thursday.
The public is invited to witness Lee Kang Bin create intricate designs on the layer of steamed milk that sits atop a coffee.
Lee Kang Bin has been credited as the inventor of "cream art." His work has gone viral globally.
"I wanted to surpass the limitations of traditional latte art by introducing colors and a wider range of designs. I think it’d be a great addition to the art bar section of the WLAC (World Latte Art Championship) and I hope to breathe new life into an otherwise isolated path in the industry," he was quoted as saying during his attendance at the Cafe Show in Korea in 2016.
