Popeyes President Alexandre Santoro said they were “very excited to sign our first major development agreement for the Popeyes brand in Asia. We believe that our passion for food at Popeyes will resonate well with guests in the Philippines.”
Kuya J’s meanwhile expressed pride in partnering with Popeyes. “The Philippines is a large and growing market and we are looking forward to servicing the high-quality food that Popeyes offers to the country’s more than 100 million people,” Lowell L. Yu, chairman of the Kuya J group said.
Popeyes was founded in New Orleans in 1972 and set itself apart from all the fried chicken joints by serving authentic New Orleans-style food, including the beloved spicy fried chicken, fried shrimp, and the oh-so-buttery buttermilk biscuits.
