There are restaurants in Cebu, Baguio, Tagaytay and Bukidnon participating in Gout de France
On March 21 — this coming Thursday —Gout de France or the biggest French dinner will take place all over the world, the Philippines included.
Around 5,000 chefs on five continents will be whipping up a special menu showcasing the richness of French gastronomy, socially responsible cuisine and local culinary traditions.
“It will be a demonstration of cuisine which is firmly rooted in its time and is sensitive to the needs of today: respecting our planet and healthy eating,” reads the event’s website.
In the Philippines, 26 chefs will be participating. The bulk of it is in Manila, but Cebu, Tagaytay, Baguio and Bukidnon each have a representative to the French feast.
Chef Didier Deroulet of Baguio’s Café Adriana at the Hill Station will serve a four-course special menu that includes Provencal Marinated Chicken Breast with roasted vegetables gratin (starts P950).
Tagaytay’s Samira Grill, spearheaded by Chef Jonathan Bouthiaux,has an impressive six-course meal with wine choices too. Off the bat, we’re salivating over the seared foie gras, duck legs confit and the French cheese trolley. Including wine, the dinner is at P2,500.
Chef Richard Amadeo of Cebu’s La Vie Parissiene, has prepared a four-course meal, which includes an attractive platter of cheese, and homemade assorted macarons.
In Bukidnon, Chef David Olyver Virrey of Eiffel Kubo has a three-course meal offering with wine to boot. It starts at P2,230.
