‘Masarap Ba?’- approved dishes are offered at this hotel buffet in Quezon City

It’s no surprise that Masarap Ba?, has amassed quite a following — and what a loyal following it is.

Since 2015, the Instagram account has been dishing out honest, simple, and no-BS food reviews — a whiff of fresh air from all the hifalutin food writing we’ve been getting.

Apart from the honesty, Masarap Ba? also gives followers something good to discover whenever little-known but well-deserving food entrepreneurs are highlighted.

Enter a most delicious collaboration. The anonymous food blogger, who goes by the alias “Kat Abaan” recently partnered with international hotel chain Novotel Manila Araneta Center for “Masarap Nga: Meet and Eat”, a buffet featuring more than dozen SMEs (small to medium enterprises), all of which are her personal favorites.

“I listed down all my SME favorites, lahat nung mga lagi ko ino-order talaga. Personal picks ko, then submitted them to Novotel. Fortunately, lahat nagustohan din nila,” Kat told GMA News Online in an online interview to preserve her anonymity.

Until April 7, five of Kat’s favorite dishes, including Benedicto Kitchen’s Roast Beef and the super viral Le Sucre Lab’s Choco Dream Cake are included the hotel’s buffet. The rest of the dishes on offer feature Kat’s favorites like Daddy Mikk’s Garlic and Chili Crunch on the Aglio Olio, and Papa Bear’s Chili Oil on the Singaporean Chili Crab.

Joy De Mesa, director of sales and marketing for Novotel Manila Araneta Center, said the hotel really plans to pursue a more meaningful partnership with Masarap Ba’s chosen SMEs.

“Hopefully, through her [Masarap Ba] platform, we will be able to continue to support the SMEs,” De Mesa told GMA News Online. “If we can carry their products also in our store, that would be nice. That is actually our next step. A lot of ka-kultos are looking for a place to buy their products, not just online orders… It’s not just going to end on April 7. We’re looking at a longer partnership with them.”

Until April 7, 2019. Lunch (12pm-2:30pm) for P1,588 per person, dinner (6-10pm) for P1,688 per person.
