Poblacion's award-winning bar OTO to close, preps for relocation

Award-winning bar OTO just confirmed the rumors: It is closing on Monday, July 15. But not for long.

“Yes, the rumors are true - we’ll be closing our doors beginning next week Monday,” the Poblacion bar posted on their Facebook page on Wednesday. “Although we’re not gonna be gone too long and we’re not gonna be going too far.”

OTO will hold a last hurrah at their current spot on July 14, Sunday, before heading just across the street, underneath the newly opened neo-Filipino bistro Lampara along Enriquez Street.

The statement reads: “It’s been a wild three years from the bar takeovers to the vinyl sets and even a band gig just last week. But all throughout the good times there was one thing that was constant - you guys. You brought the fun, the chill, the fire to our bar. You gave us the push to keep getting better, to keep on going - all the way to the 50 Best Bars in Asia list. So we want to say a big thank you, most of all, to YOU, for making us who we are today.”

As patrons await their reopening, OTO promised that they have no plans of stopping.

“We’re really not planning on stopping. On the contrary - we’ll be reopening with bigger plans. So watch out for our new space.”

OTO, along with Curator Coffee & Cocktails and The Backroom, made it to this year's Asia's 50 Best Bars. It made it to the 47th spot. — LA, GMA News
