Heart Evangelista's dad shares secret bagoong recipe in a vlog

On her latest YouTube vlog, Heart Evangelista featured her dad, Rey Ongpauco, sharing his secret bagoong recipe.

In case anybody needs reminding: the Ongpauco's own the Barrio Fiesta chain of restaurants.

Heart and her dad Rey were joined by her sisters Camille and Mich.

Camille said it was actually the first time "we bothered to watch him cook his famous bagoong.

"Normally i-re-request lang namin tapos dadating sa bahay namin naka-tupperware na," Camille narrated.

And as their dad cooked, the Ongpauco sisters watched and shared stories of their favorite memories with their father. They all agreed he was strict as they were growing up, but the sisters are all now thankful he was.

"When you think about it I'm so glad that I had them to guide me and to really be there for me kasi in a way, I was too naive," Heart said. 

"I was also in showbiz which anything goes kailangan mo rin talaga ng tough people behind you that will care for you and watch out for you."

At the latter part of the video, their dad gave them a message and a lesson.

"Matuto kayo mag-ipon kasi hindi na kayo bata. Kailangan isipin niyo ang future niyo. 'Yon lang ang masasabi ko tignan niyo mabuti," Rey told the girls.

"Lalo na ikaw," he turned to Heart. "kung magkaka-anak ka, tignan niyo maigi para lumaki siya ng maayos kamukha ng mga kapatid mo."
