Bacon souffle, dinuguan and other unusual stuff you can put in your pasta
Pasta doesn't need to be limited to tomato sauce, cream, or olive oil.
A recent episode of Good News took viewers on a delicious food trip, featuring restaurants that offer unusual pasta dishes. We mean:
1. Carbonara souffle pasta
Have you ever tried putting a fluffy cheese souffle on top of carbonara?
Le Petit Souffle, with branches in Makati and Megamall, serves this pasta dish with a special sauce infused with bacon drippings, and then topped with bacon, crispy bread and parmesan cheese.
One serving is good for two!
2. Laksa pasta
For those who want a different type of Asian noodle experience, why not try some Laksa pasta?
Laksa is a spicy coconut milk-based noodle soup popular in Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia and Singapore.
Olivia & Co. in Taguig turned it into a pasta, and it looks divine.
3. Dinuguan pasta
We know what you're thinking: Whaaat?
But people who aren't fond of eating pork innards are precisely why Fili Sandwich Bar in Mandaluyong made a dinuguan pasta sauce.
"Ginamit ko nalang ay ground pork para makamasa naman siya. Kumbaga matitikman ng lahat, kasi yung iba ayaw ng pork innards, laman-loob. So ginawa ko na lang siyang sauce and tinop ko sa pasta," Chef Agnel Untalan said. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
