A taste of the Mediterranean at Restaurant Tapenade

This Mediterranean restaurant sits at the ground floor of this chic hotel right at the beginning of posh Ayala Avenue. Discovery Primea towers over the rest of the Makati skyscrapers, outstanding in both structure and cuisine.
According to Executive Chef Luis Chikiamco, Tapenade is an ideal place for families and big groups to celebrate the holidays because "there's something for everyone to enjoy here" despite being known for its Mediterranean offers. This joint goes beyond the usual spreads and unleavened breads from that side of the globe. Restaurant Tapenade takes pride in their dishes rooted in comfort food and tradition, but elevated with careful execution. The food they offer is a mixture of the old and the new, paying their respects to the original dish while keeping it relevant and updated for the evolving market.
Restaurant Tapenade recently launched their new menu offers and here's what you should definitely try when you visit.
Mozzarella & Friends (P760)
Enjoy baby Mozzarella balls served various sauces: classic basil pesto, black olive tapenade, punchy romesco dip, and fruit mostarda.

Prosciutto & Company (P760)
Served table-side, this tapas selection features an assortment of cantaloupe, fresh mango, and asparagus. It’s like enjoying a refreshing plate of fresh fruits and premium cured meat by Lake Como.

Shrimp en Gambardina (P540)
This Spanish-style tempura is almost orange because of the spices in the batter, unlike Japan’s traditional tempura which is almost devoid of seasoning. This is served with Guindilla aioli dip, which gives it a refreshing herby flavor.

Rigatoni al Sugo (P540)
This dish is big enough to share with one or two people, but we won’t judge you if you finish it on your own. Rigatoni is tossed in a generous amount of lassic tomato sauce with Italian guanciale, fennel sausage and smoked bacon.

Wagyu Beef & Mushroom Paella (P1,500)
This is pan-fried rice and sauteed mushrooms topped with strips of premium Wagyu beef. The mushroom gives the rice so much umami, so much flavor; while the extremely tender beef just surrenders to the knife like it was made of butter.

Roast Chicken & Chorizo Paella (P890)
Like the wagyu paella, this features pan-fried rice cooked with green beans and rosemary topped with roasted chicken. This dish is more subtle in flavor, making you crave for one more spoonful of that gloriously tasty rice and the tender chicken.

Chocolate Tart (P420)
Made with olivo fleur de sel, chocolate truffle, and topped with raspberry kisses. This is a chocolate lover’s dream come true.

Also, make sure to try the Patatas Crunchy with Mojo Dip (that dip alone can make anything taste good!), Croquetas de Pollo y Trufa, Strawberry Creme Brulee Cake, and the Manchego Cheesecake, as recommended by their very own General Manager, David Pardo de Ayala (who's also a chef).
