Check out these healthy alternatives for foodies in 2020!
If you are vegan, vegetarian, or simply want to switch to healthier choices as part of your New Year's Resolution this 2020, consider yourself lucky as restaurants serving plant-based meals are on the rise!
Pop Talk sampled three of them to help foodies decide where to eat next: Get Greens and Dahon-Dahan in Quezon City and Berde in Makati City.
Get Greens
This cozy place with branches in Banawe and Maginhawa offers a huge selection on their menu: poke bowls, salads, wraps, fruit bowls, smoothies, and cold coffee.
For an affordable price range of P140 to P285, they debunk the claim that trying to stay healthy is expensive.
Berde
If you have allergies or simply concerned about the ingredients in your meal, Berde allows you to "create your own bowl" aside from their five signature bowls.
For your rice and salad bowls, you can choose among four bases, five protein sources, six vegetable sides, and 12 toppings.
Located at the Ayala Triangle, this restaurant proudly gets its ingredients from local sources all over the country. The price of meals ranges from P60 to P380.
Dahon-Dahan
Aside from its witty name, Dahon-Dahan is superbly creative in conceptualizing new recipes to spice up its menu. Taking inspiration from a beloved Japanese dish, they serve breaded jackfruit which they call "Langkatsu."
They also offer salads, salad wraps, brown rice meals, vegan sandwiches, vegetarian pasta, and smoothies. Their meals range from P80 to P280, providing a cheap and healthy option for eating out at Esteban Abada near Katipunan.
