Ovo, which is Latin for egg, is the latest concept by Chef Mikel Zaguirre of Locavore fame. The chef took the humble egg and elevated this everyday ingredient into indulgent culinary creations.
“We chose Ovo since the egg is the center of most brunch options and one of the most versatile ingredient any chef can use,” shared the chef who also mentioned that the establishment is not limited to only one type of cuisine. “We wanted to create playful and creatively tasteful dishes to showcase that brunch is not just your usual standard eggs, bacon, and pancakes.”
His innovative style in the kitchen complements the contemporary look of the establishment that has an impressive open kitchen with a display of their dinnerware, knick-knacks, and other conversation starters.
You’ll feel right at ease once you wade your feet into a sea of blues—from the geometric tile flooring, to the plush navy seats, and cobalt-colored accent tile walls. Cement accent walls with neon lights, plus the open ceiling with exposed wooden and steel beams, complete the industrial yet modern ambiance.
During the day, the space is bright and open—making it the perfect brunch spot—or breakfast buffet area for the hotel’s overnight guests. At night, it transforms into a more dramatic look with its dimmed lighting to set the mood for dinner dates or after-dinner drinks.
